Great Quote!

"For years now, they've told us that we can't afford—that the government providing health care to all people is just unimaginable; it can't be done. We don't have the money to rebuild our infrastructure. We don't have the money to wipe out poverty. We can't do it. But all of a sudden, yeah, we do have $700 billion for a bailout of Wall Street."—Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont).

Leave it to you, my dear sister, to quote the only Socialist in Congress!

The troubling thing is...I agree with him that we should NOT bail them out!!!

That's not troubling Jimmy, that's a step in the right direction! HAHA! And, I know you are passionate, but when you comment on my blog, you don't have to sound so angry/ exacerbated. I agree with you on this one- for the most part.

Well,I can't claim to be an economist or claim to understand the formulas that are coming into play here. But what I do know is that if anyone truly wanted a geniune picture of what is happening in this country, they should come to Ohio and take a good hard look. It isn't pretty. In fact it is downright deplorable. All I know is that in the past 8 years, I have seen a dramatic change here (and not for the better). The policies that brought us to this point are not working and need serious over hauling. The idea/concept of de-regulation in it's pure form is appealing, until you add the human factor. The idea that the corporate giants would actually check themselves and use deregulation to foster geniune competition (which is always sold by the mantra of more choice = lower costs) was and is ridiculous. There is nothing inharently wrong with competion and capitalism, but time and time again, we humans prove the need for restrictions and regulations to reign in our over indulgent kegger parties. We really can't have our cake and eat it too. With de-regulation comes great responsibility and those assholes are like kids in a candy store that don't know when to stop. It is pathetic, disheartening, and downright shameful. As thoughtful, caring human beings we should be concerned about our fellow man. This idea of me first is exactly what is wrong. Sorry, I had to blow off a little steam. Oh and one more thing...in the past week I have heard McCain say something several times in interviews that truly makes my blood boil. It does this for many reasons but the biggest one is his belief that we as Americans are truly stupid. I mean really, how else could he possibly explain his response to questions about our economy and his stand in the past "the fundamentals of this economy are sound" (lines from the Bush play) to what I meant when I said that was that American workers are the fundamentals of this country and they are hard working and they are strong. What????? Are you serious????? This entire time the country has been focused on economics and you have been reading the hook, line and sinker script from the Bush adminstration about how things aren't that bad, you really meant to say that they are as bad as people are saying but the people are great. The dollar is falling terribly and gas prices are sky rocketting every time someone in the oil industry gets a head cold, but the fundamentals are sound, nothing to worry about (until this week). Now the American workers (excuse me I mean the fundamentals of our economy) are fine and hard working. It is just the rest of the entire economic outlook, which is so bleak and catastrophic that campaining must be suspended, is in the crapper. What an ASS!!! Anybody who belives that this crap is truly what he meant for the past several months really is stupid and gets what he/she deserves if he ends up in charge. I on the other hand have much more faith in the intellect of our country. Sorry for the rant, but it was about time!!!! Jenny

Jenny said it so well. I know Jimmy really hates me now...Goodness! We agree on this one...(YES WE AGREE) but we still fight...

Just like communism...a free market only works on paper....because there are always greedy sons-of-*&%#, that will take advantage of it...(Enron? Tyco? Keating Five? Savings and Loan?...etc, etc...)

So we NEED regualation of the markets - to put some safegaurds on this kind of rape and pillaging.

Love you all! N
